Seams like a lot for this feature The device seams OK for a single loop EKG. My problem is with the business model of AliveCor. Upon purchase and installing the app, seller advises that “Free trial of premium features through February 2017 including personalized heart health reports.” There is no description of basic vs premium membership, so I called AliveCor. Comes in handy for correlating symptoms to heart rate/rhythm I’m a physician and my father in law has been having some dizzy spells. His physician didn’t seem particularly concerned and scheduled an appointment for several weeks out, which was concerning to me. I ended up getting this device to see what his heart rate and rhythm looked like when he was having the dizzy spells. It was useful in detecting that he was in sinus bradycardia, and was on too high of a dose of beta blockers.

I love the idea but it’s way too buggy to rely on, especially when you’re having rythm issues. Our doctor suggested this for my wife. She’s been having some heart beat irregularities lately and he told us we could use this device to capture EKG strips at home and send them to his office. What a great idea! We’ve been using it for a month now and unfortunately it’s far from perfect.
